Privacy

This notice describes how the public Yield Dispatch reader website measures visits and handles requests. Reading articles, searching the archive and using the RSS feed do not require an account.

Website delivery and security

Cloudflare delivers these pages and applies security controls. Requests pass through its infrastructure, which processes connection and request information to operate those services. Our own recognized-AI-crawler logs record the publication, crawler classification and requested path; those custom log entries omit IP addresses, query strings, cookies and full user-agent values. See Cloudflare’s privacy notice for its processing practices.

Readership measurement

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits, referral sources and article engagement. The Google tag can use cookies and browser identifiers. Our page configuration sends the page’s origin and path, its title, publication and article identifiers, campaign labels and the referring origin. It disables Google signals and advertising personalization signals. Analytics requests still connect your browser to Google; see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Our custom events measure source-link clicks, qualified article reads and referrals from recognized AI products. A qualified read requires thirty active, focused seconds with the article visible and at least half its body reached. Source-link events include the destination’s domain and path, without its query string or fragment. Recognized AI-referral events identify the product and article, rather than a conversation URL.

Search terms and test cookies

Search and filter pages are not tagged with Analytics, so our tag does not send the text entered in site search. That text remains part of the request URL processed by the website infrastructure. Our Analytics page-location and referrer configuration also omits URL query strings and fragments; validated campaign labels are sent separately.

The optional analytics test mode sets a secure, site-specific cookie for up to thirty days to label test traffic. Turning that test mode off clears its cookie. This test marker is separate from cookies used by Google Analytics.

External links and your browser

Source links may include campaign labels naming this publication and the public article. These labels describe the content, not an individual reader. External HTTPS destinations may receive this site’s domain as the referrer and apply their own privacy and measurement practices. Their policies govern what happens after you follow their links.

You can manage stored cookies and block Analytics through your browser or suitable extensions. Google also provides a Google Analytics browser opt-out add-on. Blocking Analytics or JavaScript does not prevent you from reading the server-rendered articles.
