Polygon Labs announced on October 7 that its Open Money Stack now supports TRON. The first phase links TRON-based USDT payments with fiat access, wallet management and routing to supported EVM networks through one business integration.
The change targets fintechs, remittance providers and payment platforms serving customers who already use USDT on TRON. It adds a connection to an existing network rather than requiring those customers to receive every payment on Polygon.
What the integration connects
The TRON DAO announcement describes three components: Polygon Ramps for fiat entry and exit, programmable TRON wallets, and cross-chain movement of USDT. Its remittance example starts with a customer funding a payment in dollars and ends with USDT delivered to a recipient's TRON wallet. The reverse flow would allow TRON-held USDT to reach a bank account.
Polygon's product description adds a practical accounting detail: persistent TRON deposit addresses let the stack attribute incoming deposits to the appropriate customer. It also distinguishes custodial and embedded wallet options. Those details matter because accepting a stablecoin transfer and matching it to a customer are separate parts of a payment workflow.
For a payment operator, the announced change is the ability to connect those components through a shared interface. That is an integration choice, not evidence that a transfer has become cheaper or that every destination is available.
First phase, with limits
The announcement says additional assets, markets and payment capabilities are expected later. It does not identify a universal rollout covering every currency, country or payout route.
CoinDesk's reporting places the expansion in Polygon's broader payments strategy and notes that connecting the networks does not remove payment companies' licensing obligations.
The launch therefore establishes announced TRON support within the stack. It does not establish adoption by particular customers or independently measured payment performance. Businesses evaluating the connection still need the supported route, wallet arrangement and availability for their own use case.
