# LlamaRisk reports freeze of tBTC on Aave V3 Ethereum Core

LlamaRisk reports a tBTC-specific guardian action on Ethereum Core.

LlamaRisk reported on October 31 that a guardian multisig executed a freeze of tBTC on Aave V3 Ethereum Core at 10:01 UTC. The Aave risk service provider said it prepared the transaction and submitted it to the guardian following what it described as Threshold Network's pause of tBTC minting and redemptions.

The [new governance post](https://governance.aave.com/t/tbtc-mint-redeem-pause-aaves-response/25965/1) was created at 10:28 UTC and marked last updated at 10:26. It identifies tBTC on Ethereum Core as the target and describes the measure as stopping new tBTC deposits. The execution time comes from LlamaRisk's account; it is not an independently checked transaction receipt.

The distinction from [the broader reserve freezes reported on October 30](https://yielddispatch.com/news/632c2daa-69f3-4d2f-9aea-ada91bd0778e) matters. That earlier account described guardian actions across Aave V3 and V4 after the Binance incident, and a plan for staged unfreezing without a reopening date. The new notice describes a tBTC-specific action with a separate reported transaction time. It does not establish when all of the earlier restrictions ended, or whether those markets have reopened. The notices therefore cannot supply a complete platform-wide reopening timeline.

LlamaRisk also names tBTC reserves on Base and Arbitrum, which it says were already frozen in earlier asset-deprecation rounds. Those mentions describe prior status, not additional freezes newly announced for those networks.

The provider says restorative measures would be proposed after it has assurance that tBTC operations have returned to normal. It gives no timetable for that proposal. The reported freeze, the mint-and-redemption pause it cites, and any later restoration are separate operational states.
